TRIO SSS is a federally funded program designed to support you throughout your college journey by providing free services such as academic planning, financial aid guidance, tutoring access, scholarship support, financial wellness education, career exploration, and transfer assistance to four-year institutions.

As a TRIO SSS student, you’ll complete 3 required check-ins with your Success Coach each semester, attend at least 2 workshops, and participate in at least 1 peer mentor meeting, tutoring session, or Academic Success Center activity.

Eligibility

Eligibility to patriciate in the TRIO SSS program is determined by federal regulations.

  • Be accepted to or enrolled at Front Range Community College as a Westminster Campus student
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • Have earned a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Demonstrate academic need
  • Applicants must also meet one or more of the following requirements:
    • Low-income federal low-income guidelines
    • Be a first-generation college student
      Defined as: (a) a student neither of whose natural or adoptive parents received a baccalaureate degree; (b) a student who, prior to the age of 18, regularly resided with and received support from only one parent and whose supporting parent did not receive a baccalaureate degree; or (c) an individual who, prior to the age of 18, did not regularly reside with or receive support from a natural or an adoptive parent (Higher Education Act of 1965). 
    • Have a documented disability
